This post is the second installment of my Summer Hair Care series and focuses on some treatment products that I enjoy using on my hair year round but most especially during the Summer months. Two of the products contain argan oil while the other one contains keratin; both those ingredients are ones that I trust to keep my hair in good working order as it is hard to maintain in general. My hair has plenty of issues and isn't my best feature but with products like these I feel like I can tame my hair problems!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
MaxCare Argan Oil Serum: This serum acts as a heat protectant; it's silicone based and contains argan oil and linseed oil. A little goes a long way, I use a dime sized amount to damp hair before I blow dry and to dry hair before I straighten or curl it (with either jumbo hot rollers or a curling wand). I find that it's most effective when I apply it first to my ends and work my way up. (I don't believe that this product is available in the States, I've only seen it here in Italy but I could be wrong.)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Josie Maran Argan Oil: This is my all around miracle product! It's 100% pure organic argan oil and I can't rave enough about it! I've been using it in every area of my beauty regimen for the last 2 1/2 years and I don't ever want to live without it (especially on my face but more about that on a later post)!!! I don't often like to use heat on my hair, maybe once or twice a week at most, so I end up using this treatment more often than all others for that reason. My damaged and color treated hair loves this stuff, it absorbs easily without leaving my ends feeling greasy.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZhmLOsK55n_KVa50xJco-AKlEM9-gwjJ2Dp1HaXUWq8DFdzqoC5snKFmRYrxXgLoBhSR7wmk3xy7bet3W1urhQTdqaWVdUG_EBpuKDo_LM3luQKEOQmFbGzum1fQRlfTFfXnHJn63rWU/s1600/DSCN5341.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZhmLOsK55n_KVa50xJco-AKlEM9-gwjJ2Dp1HaXUWq8DFdzqoC5snKFmRYrxXgLoBhSR7wmk3xy7bet3W1urhQTdqaWVdUG_EBpuKDo_LM3luQKEOQmFbGzum1fQRlfTFfXnHJn63rWU/s320/DSCN5341.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Suave Keratin Infusion Serum: This product contains keratin which is basically suppose to smooth and help defrizz hair; I find that it does help to both smooth and defrizz my own hair although on hot and extremely humid Mediterranean Summer days I find that it is less effective if I decide to wear my hair down. If I tie my hair up (after I heat style it) it tends to work much better, mostly likely because my body heat doesn't end up aggravating my hair and causing it to frizz.</div>

<br />
Those of us who enjoy using long wearing products know how difficult it is to find a makeup remover that we like that adequately removes all traces of waterproof mascara, eyeshadow and liner. Thankfully, I've found removers that I feel perform well for my purposes but that doesn't stop me from searching for other's, you know, just in case something better exists :) Essence Waterproof Makeup Remover is a biphase solution (meaning it has to be shaken before use) that claims to remove waterproof eye makeup and in my experience of testing it, the claim is both true and false. <br />
<div>
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjezo_bCPP46g4vWo_NyrlAEM1ZVR-xoN3m7KSCI6wODXhtIHnGUWCfTAxX8zJKRWd-ARi8s1Yi8l37eAAkAPbeF11OMrIfBsiGqwVkEdvxmGMxUcVEATZZ7NF80eZt0r3SIb2STEoN1iY/s1600/DSCN5082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjezo_bCPP46g4vWo_NyrlAEM1ZVR-xoN3m7KSCI6wODXhtIHnGUWCfTAxX8zJKRWd-ARi8s1Yi8l37eAAkAPbeF11OMrIfBsiGqwVkEdvxmGMxUcVEATZZ7NF80eZt0r3SIb2STEoN1iY/s320/DSCN5082.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
After testing this product a few times I've found that Essence Waterproof Makeup Remover does remove waterproof eyemakeup from the immediate eye area BUT it then smears it around the perimeter of the eye and even on to the cheek area. The majority of people would find this caveat a deal breaker and I would have to agree; I will have to utilize this makeup remover for removing swatches because as an eyemakeup remover it is definitely insufficient. <br />
<br />
FYI: As far as I know, this product isn't available in the USA although I could be wrong. I bought it here in Europe for less than three euro's.<br />

My family and I do quite a bit of traveling and because I'm an incessant over packer I have grown mildly obsessed with discovering and toting around smaller sizes of my beauty faves. This adorable mini Benefit set isn't available on Sephora anymore (I bought it a few months ago) but they are available individual as parts of different mini sets.<br />

Benefit's Sun Beam is a gorgeous warm, shimmery golden highlighter which can be used to illuminate strategic features or the entire face as a whole. I love blending it on the bridge of my nose and on the tops of my cheek bones :) Benefit's Coralista is a soft pinky peach blush which is wonderful all year round but most especially during the Summer when most of us become a bit sun-kissed. In a pinch, I've used Coralista as a quick wash of color all over my eyes; a great multi-tasker in my opinion!<br />

<br />
My hair is definitely not one of my most favorite features, it's long, thick, wavy and coarse. The only way to manage it is to heat style so I'm never able to just "wash and go" which can be inconvenient at times. My hair is color treated and because a few white hairs are already popping up I don't think I'll be able to ever go without coloring it in the future. Anyhow, this Summer Hair Care segment will be focusing on different aspects of my summer hair care routine starting off with conditioning. <br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
I always opt for a rich, moisturizing conditioner and at any given time you can usually find two to four different ones in my shower. The brand that I favor for many of my hair care needs is L'Oreal and the following are some of their products that I've been using since they were introduced to the market:<br />
<br />
-L'Oreal Ever Creme Sulfate Free Cleansing Conditioner - An effective one step product to both cleanse and condition my thick, dry hair.<br />
-L'Oreal Ever Creme Nourishing Leave in Spray - A great leave in conditioner and detangler; I use it every time I wash my hair but remember to use it sparingly because it is a rich spray.<br />
-L'Oreal Ever Creme Sulfate Free Deep Nourishing Masque - One of the deep conditioners I rely on to revive my dry, coarse hair. For reference, I usually deep condition my hair two to four times a month.<br />
<br />
Also, all of the Ever Creme products smell amazing which makes washing my hair a little more pleasant :)<br />

A Perfect Pair is a new segment in this blog which will feature two products that I think go very well together, the products won't always be the same brand but in this particular case they are both from Chanel. This perfect pair happens to also be perfect for the coming summer and they are Chanel Tan De Chanel and Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 88 Abstraction. Chanel Tan De Chanel is a cream bronzer with a matte finish that can be applied sheer or built up to a deeper color while Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 88 Abstraction is a squishy but mousse like cream eyeshadow in a warm, shimmery rose gold color that can also be built up nicely from sheer to a bit more opaque. Both products are extremely easy to throw on in a hurry or as beautiful additions to more well thought out looks; one thing remains the same though, and that is that both products are very long wearing! I am in a habit of only using long wearing products the majority of the time and I need to have them perform there best always and in this instance Chanel has not let me down! I love both these pieces and I'm thinking about trying the Illusion D'Ombre in Abstraction as a blush in the near future.<br />

I know it's not May anymore but I still thought it was worth showing what I received in my May Ipsy/MyGlam bag just in case some of you were considering purchasing a subscription. I've been subscribing to Ipsy/MyGlam since January of 2012 and I must say that I think it's absolutely worth the $10 price, if not more. I haven't been disappointed with a bag yet and I seriously doubt I ever will; I love knowing that sometime during the end of the month (my address takes much longer than others) I will be receiving an adorable makeup bag full of goodies! This months bag was wonderful, it had pieces from brands that I already love (like St. Tropez and Zoya) and others that I'm not as familiar with (Macadamia Natural Oil, Yaby and Juice Beauty); all in all it was a good mix. Additionally, the bag itself is so cute and since I'm obsessed with small makeup bags I will definitely be putting it to good use, just like all the others:)<br />

I already tried the Macadamia Oil right after I received it and it smells great and helped to condition my coarse hair (I think one of the suggestions on the bottle was to add a bit into your regular conditioner which is what I ended up doing). I am excited to try out the St. Tropez lotion since I absolutely adore their bronzing mousse; I also am eager to test out the Yaby concealer even though it's a bit lighter than what I would normally use, maybe I will use it as a highlighter instead :) I love Zoya nail polishes so this particular color will be a great addition to my collection; as for the Juice Beauty lip gloss, I think I will be passing that one along to my Mom since I don't think that particular color suits me. In any case, the May 2013 Ipsy/MyGlam bag has not disappointed and makes me look forward to next months bag!!!</div>

In honor of Summer I put together a series featuring my version and thoughts about the no makeup look, entitled "The No Makeup Look," of course :) This post will be the first installment and its focus, you guessed it, is on the natural cheek. Now, the whole natural cheek look depends on your particular skin tone, for example, I am light to light-medium in complexion with a yellow undertone and some splotchy, red areas on my cheek, around my nose and on my chin. In order for my skin to appear to have a healthy flush when I'm wearing minimal makeup I choose to use a cream formula that isn't too bright, too pink and is shimmer free. The following products are the colors that work for my skin tone (for reference: MAC NC20) and I decided to include a powder formula as well because I do use that on days when I can't bother blending out a cream :) All these colors are a nudey, fleshy pink and are shimmer free:<br />

I can't believe it's going to be June tomorrow! Where has the year gone? Admittedly, Summer isn't my favorite time of year (Fall is with Winter coming in a close second) but the thunderstorms we've been experiencing here in Northern Italy (I'm not Italian but my family and I live her because of my husband's career) are getting really old. Suffice it to say, but I'm ready for Summer to come!!! Anyhow, here are my May favorites and while I don't think there are many, I do think that there's a good bit of variety. </div>

Stila Convertible Color in Peony- a nice, nude-ish pop of color for my cheeks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Maybelline Deam Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium- to even out my face</div>
L'oreal Colour Riche Wet Shine Stain in Pink Resistance- a light, neutral pink stain gloss than can be built up for more opacity<br />
Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 20- used in the under eye area to conceal and brighten my dark circles<br />
ELF High Definition Under Eye Setting Powder- has become a Holy Grail Product for me to brighten and set my under eye concealer<br />
Mally Beauty Eye Shadow Stick in Firework- a shimmery, gold-ish, champagne shade that I use on my eyelids and inner corners<br />
The Balm Time Balm Concealer in Light/Medium- a medium to full coverage concealer that I use to spot conceal<br />
MAC Brow Set in Beguile- beefs up my sparse brows<br />
Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara in Black- I love this mascara, it really builds up lashes quickly to give a lengthened and volumized look. I've gone through so many bottles of this, this is probably my eighth or tenth one!<br />
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand- used to set my t-zone and an concealing that I've done. Great powder that mattifies without looking cakey or dry.<br />
Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm- I use this as a primer and for a bit of color under my Maybelline BB Cream; the UD beauty balm doesn't provide coverage but it helps my makeup last all day.<br />

Depending on how much time I have I may swap some products in (like Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed instead of the Stila Convertible Color in Peony) or forgo using others but for the most part this takes me between 5 and 10 minutes to do. Do you have a go to, quick beauty routine? Do you use certain products that makes your regular routine a cinch to complete? If so, please comment below because I would love to hear about what you're using!!!</div>

I've been using Real Techniques brushes for well over a year now and I can't get enough of them. All of the Real Techniques brushes that I own are top quality (I have every brush except four of them) and they are extremely affordable as well which makes them an even better buy. One brush that I'm particularly in love with is the Expert Face brush which I've had since around July of last year. This brush is soft but dense, enabling it to buff foundation in without scratching or irritating my facial skin. I find that I'm able to use it with a wide array of foundations, both thick and creamy and thin and watery, which makes this brush indispensable in my humble opinion. It's also perfect to smooth out tinted moisturizers and bb creams; in these cases I apply my TM or BB Cream with my hands and then buff and smooth out the edges with the Expert Face brush, and voil<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px;">Ã </span>, perfection!!!<br />

<br />
I love the thought of being able to do my own blowout; luscious, volumized locks, all smooth and shiny but sadly I've never been able to reproduce anything close to a salon blowout on my own. I've never been to a drybar but I was extremely intrigued when I saw some of their offerings being sold on the Sephora site. I'm pretty picky when it comes to hair products so I thought it a safer bet to purchase some of their other offerings to try out first, in this case it was their Morning After Shower Cap and their Hold Me Hair Clips.<br />
<br />

<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Before I go into my review here is a little background on my hair type and how I normally take care of it: first of all I have extremely thick, wavy and slightly coarse color processed, medium lengthed hair. I also have long layers and side swept bangs; I normally have my hair thinned out as well because that is the only way I can manage to style it, otherwise I'm solely relegated to messy ponytails and buns. I wash my hair two to three times a week, most often using sulfate free shampoo's (my favorites are from the L'Oreal Ever lines) and rich conditioners (I adore the Suave Keratin conditioner and the Pantene Moisture Whip conditioner), once a week I use Clear Scalp and Hair Therapy Nourishing shampoo to get my hair really clean. I also use conditioning masks once a week, such as the L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm which I've been really loving.<br />
<br />
Now on to the reviews: first one up is the Morning After Shower Cap. As you've read previously I don't wash my hair everyday but I do take showers everyday and the only way to preserve my hair style is to wear a shower cap. All of the previous shower caps I've used were your standard shower curtain resembling caps but the Drybar cap is a bit different and that difference is what makes this cap effective. Instead of just the regular plasticky (is that even a real word?) material of all other shower caps, the Drybar Morning After Shower Cap has the added benefit of a terry cloth interior which helps to prevent humidity from seeping into the shower cap and ruining your hair. I was a bit skeptical at first but having used this quite a few times over the past three weeks I have to say I'm loving the results! My hair stays as smooth and as frizz free as before my shower, I don't think I can go back to using standard shower caps after using this one!<br />

<br />
<br />
Next up are the Drybar Hold Me Hair Clips which come in a pack of four. I thought that these were a particular necessity for me because the only way I can blow dry my hair is to section it off and my previous method involved butterfly clips which are effective but can also make my head sore since you need a certain amount of hair in order to prevent a pulling feeling. These Hold Me Hair Clips are perfect because I'm able to put as little or as much hair (within reason) in a clip without hurting my head.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Overall, these two Drybar products are great and I'm happy that I went ahead and purchased them. They can be found on the Sephora site (which is where I bought them) as well as on QVC, although they only have the hair dryer and clips in a set for purchase. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other products in the near future, especially their brushes!<br />

To be honest, I've never been drawn to the lip color choice myself until this past year which is saying a lot since I've been wearing makeup regularly for more than a decade. Anyhow, below I have four red lip color choices that I feel will flatter basically any skin tone. I think the shades are quite neutral so your skin tone being cool or warm makes little difference.<br />

<br />
This is my absolute favorite time of year for so many reasons but one of those reasons is that I love rich, dark earth tones and this Wet n Wild palette is a great example of that. I find myself reaching for this palette often since the season has changed because of its versatility; I can do beautiful bright eyes as well as dark smokey ones or even colorful bright ones! The pigmentation of these shadows is amazing, the texture is buttery soft and easy to blend!<br />

These products last all day on me, which is a requirement for all my complexion products, as I put my makeup on before 7am and don't remove it until around 10pm. I never reapply foundation or concealer, I only touch up my powder if I'm looking a bit shiny.The following foundations/BB creams are what I'm enjoying right now and are in my current rotation!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyj7orXju1C7X0YHKH03dgzDB8_0S17xE4u85v3kTo3gsJogACfOZSDty5YDBJk0JsaoDQa6r1GTbGxz0SrxgNN6oxRbzXyNuRALtUb68uM80JdxSYGN8chOItr3en_kdWbk53ZIvqztM/s1600/DSCN3515.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyj7orXju1C7X0YHKH03dgzDB8_0S17xE4u85v3kTo3gsJogACfOZSDty5YDBJk0JsaoDQa6r1GTbGxz0SrxgNN6oxRbzXyNuRALtUb68uM80JdxSYGN8chOItr3en_kdWbk53ZIvqztM/s320/DSCN3515.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">From L to R: Maybelline BB Creams in Light/Medium and Medium, Rimmel Lasting Finish in Soft Beige, L'Oreal Lumi in W3 Nude Beige and L'Oreal Visible Lift in Nude Beige</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<b>Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Skin Protector in Light/Medium and Medium</b>: I don't think that Western BB Creams are in any way similar to Asian ones (especially due to coverage and claims) but as a tinted moisturizer I'm absolutely loving this particular one. The texture is like a gel cream, not too thick and not too thin. The formula glides on smoothly and blends in well leaving a dewy finish. I can use either color but opt for the Medium one by itself if I feel particularly pale. They also mix with each other beautifully and I often wear them that way. The coverage is light but with a few dabs of concealer and a pat of powder I find that it's my perfect everyday face. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirsyZ4t4AIwIhcZXrlNbIKHe85PrAaDVaemFkZIf6Wa7_6UdNH7fxa3fxPutfPy6ayoOD87Zpkn-j9tcVmxEXAN4d9k9d8fcD3aO4BYtBJ3X27ClwlE-1hagbQM06CZHCm_wHCg5CpqDc/s1600/DSCN3518.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirsyZ4t4AIwIhcZXrlNbIKHe85PrAaDVaemFkZIf6Wa7_6UdNH7fxa3fxPutfPy6ayoOD87Zpkn-j9tcVmxEXAN4d9k9d8fcD3aO4BYtBJ3X27ClwlE-1hagbQM06CZHCm_wHCg5CpqDc/s320/DSCN3518.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<b>L'Oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in W3 Nude Beige</b>: I favor this foundation over the original True Match. The coverage is light to medium and easily buildable. It glides on smoothly and blends in well; I usually choose foundations a few shades darker than myself so blend-ability is a must. There isn't any shimmer in this foundation but it does impart a luminous finish that is easily dissipated with a bit of powder which is what I usually do. I know that it may defeat the purpose of the whole luminosity factor but that isn't why I bought this foundation, it's more about the coverage for me than the overall finish. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUG2UOWtUWAVbktwGkC_CrmLrwTtOfaTMqMdVIFKS28kGWeR4p2BLOo4VLQJCPeSg3Xoz-shLVEDQam9uILv4IIrbvSg_cBW9p7Hom1FPps5MgScpyFrHVBhGQ1PsMioXsnZfidxYqOFk/s1600/DSCN3519.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUG2UOWtUWAVbktwGkC_CrmLrwTtOfaTMqMdVIFKS28kGWeR4p2BLOo4VLQJCPeSg3Xoz-shLVEDQam9uILv4IIrbvSg_cBW9p7Hom1FPps5MgScpyFrHVBhGQ1PsMioXsnZfidxYqOFk/s320/DSCN3519.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<b>Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 200 Soft Beige</b>: I've been using this formula for about a year and a half and it's definitely my go to foundation when I want a flawless face without the heavy feel. The texture of this foundation is also a gel cream which glides on smoothly, blends well and is a buildable medium to medium/full coverage with a slightly dewy finish. I always put on a dusting of powder on top of all my foundations so that isn't a problem for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3j_wgoVBbJLN3AbrmntJ2oUj-FH_xLPEhuxeijsbo-bW0Oz2Hznc5_Kng1jEsvUaErxlPFrz1N_a4qi3QhiMqiVxkf6Jkk4eYs4P7DSQ55CNbsX8t_aTLMNL3hT21QuKBT2ikIZri-ns/s1600/DSCN3520.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3j_wgoVBbJLN3AbrmntJ2oUj-FH_xLPEhuxeijsbo-bW0Oz2Hznc5_Kng1jEsvUaErxlPFrz1N_a4qi3QhiMqiVxkf6Jkk4eYs4P7DSQ55CNbsX8t_aTLMNL3hT21QuKBT2ikIZri-ns/s320/DSCN3520.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>L'Oreal Visible Lift Repair Absolute Rapid Age Reversing Makeup in 125 Nude Beige</b>: This cream foundation is formulated for more mature skin and while I am nowhere near having mature skin I still enjoy the formula. I think it's particularly well suited for drier skin during the colder months such as now, I probably wouldn't reach for this during the Summer as it's quite hot and humid where I live. The formula has a light consistency, blends well and is a buildable light to medium coverage. I often times use this as my under eye concealer when that area feels a bit more drier than usual. I usually work this into my skin with my fingers and buff out the edges of my face with a Real Techniques<a href="http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2244502&productId=xlsImpprod4260015&navAction=push&navCount=1&categoryId=cat80084%20cat120078" target="_blank"> Expert Face Brush</a> or a Tarte <a href="http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2241952&productId=xlsImpprod4130105&navAction=push&navCount=1&categoryId=cat80084%20cat120078" target="_blank">Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush.</a> </div>

Here's a quick nail of the day with Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polish in Save the Date. I own a few Diamond Strength polishes but haven't gotten a chance to try this particular one out until now. I think the color of this polish is ideal for Fall; it's such a rich, vampy, jewel toned burgundy red with burgundy-red shimmer. The formula applied beautifully with two coats to full opacity. In all of these pictures I'm wearing two coats of Save the Date with Seche Vite on top.<br />

There's just something about the thought and care put into these products that appeals to me, most fragrances are truly one of a kind scents which adds to the excitement. Purchasing products online without trying them out in person is a hit or miss situation but I've been fortunate enough to enjoy most of the products I've purchased blindly. <br />
<br />
Over the last month or so I've placed three orders with <a href="http://www.hausofgloi.com/">Haus of Gloi</a> and have been quite pleased with my purchases. Today we will be looking at one of their Pumpkin Butters called Vice. From the Haus of Gloi site here is their description of their <a href="http://www.hausofgloi.com/category_52/Pumpkin-Butter.htm">Pumpkin Butter formula</a>:<br />
<br />
" Made with shea butter and unrefined pumpkin seed oil this moisturizer is rich without being too greasy. Each batch is made from scratch, paraben free and vegan."<br />

Vice is the first Pumpkin Butter I've purchased from them and I am truly in love with not only the scent but with the overall formula. I bought the 6 ounce size ($10.00) but they also sell a smaller 2 ounce size ($4.50) as well. Here is their description of the <a href="http://www.hausofgloi.com/item_235/Vice-Pumpkin-Butter.htm">Vice scent</a>:<br />
<br />
"Steam billows rolling off a vessel of fresh made Turkish coffee, marshmallow goo tainted by graham cracker crumbs, toasted hazelnuts and blanketed in black chocolate."<br />

<br />
<br />
When you open the jar there is a protective seal over the top although I didn't take a picture of that because I was too excited to try it out! The first scents I smelled were of dark chocolate and coffee; the chocolate was definitely not sickeningly sweet at all, it was dark and smokey but NOT like a campfire type of smokey. I didn't really catch any other smells until I rubbed the cream into my skin. Immediately after rubbing the cream into my skin the scents changed and I was able to smell more of a creamy sweetness with a bit of nutty-ness added to the initial scents of dark chocolate and coffee. The scent lingers on my skin for a couple of hours which I'm fine with as I normally reapply lotion to my hands and arms often, especially after washing my hands. The cream itself is very moisturizing without any of the stickiness that I find can be common with scented creams. Overall this is an excellent cream; it's both moisturizing and beautifully perfumed. I purchased their Parkin Pumpkin Butter which I haven't received in the mail yet but I will be doing a review of that once it arrives. <br />

A lot of the products are ones that I may not have chosen for myself and because of that I feel like I have been exposed to a wide variety of brands and categories. October's theme was "Hello, Bombshell" and the products I received in my bag fit the theme perfectly!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I received <a href="http://www.coastalscents.com/">Coastal Scents</a> Eyeshadow Sample Quad in Set 5. These quads feature eyeshadows from Coastal Scents Hot Pot line, this particular quad featured the following colors:</div>
<div>
-Vibrant Red - a matte, true red</div>
<div>
-Frosty Taupe - a frosted, pale, greenish taupe color</div>
<div>
-Raisin Berry - a shimmery, warm cranberry color</div>
<div>
-Vanilla Sky - a shimmery, slightly off white color<br />

I wore three out of the four colors, Raisin Berry, Frosty Taupe and Vanilla Sky, so I will only be reviewing those shades. Before I get into the actual review I think it's important to mention that when I swatch eyeshadow shades I do so on bare skin, however, when I wear the products I'm testing I always use a base because I would never go without a base in my everyday life. Okay, now on to the review: all the shades I tested were on my lid a minimum of eight hours without any creasing and were almost as vibrant as when I first put them on. The fading was very minimal and overall I feel like the shade I tested are great eyeshadows; they were buttery soft, pigmented and blended on the lid easily. I really enjoyed the Raisin Berry color which some may feel looks similar to MAC's Cranberry, which I also own but haven't had a chance to compare them, but from memory I think that Raisin Berry may be a little more wearable because it seems a warmer shade to me. I can't make any concrete decision on that though as I would have to compare the colors first but again, I really enjoyed wearing that shade. I think I may even look into purchasing the full size pan in the near future and maybe pick up a few more additional shades as well.<br />

I think I went a bit overboard but I couldn't resist such great deals. One of the orders consisted of 4 ounce candles at $5.00 each (which is half the original price) and the other two orders took advantage of BBW's 14 ounce 3 wick candles at 2 for $20 (one candle is normally $20.00 each). I was especially excited to receive four coupons total along with my orders, two coupons are for 20% of an order and the other two are for one free product. Of course I will be putting those coupons to good use the next time there is a BBW candle sale!<br />

Very pitiful, I know, but I hope I won't disappoint with this return.Nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12932583778678695281noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3427395894323748569.post-80019365242421258892012-01-04T03:54:00.000-08:002012-01-04T03:54:33.757-08:00Time for a Fresh, New, Start...So here I am attempting to resurrect this blog and make posting on it a top priority. I have such a backlog of pictures, products to review and NOTD's that I am definitely embarrassed that my last efforts were less than fruitful. Expect to see regular postings in the extremely near future! Thanks and Happy New Year!!!<div><br />

I purchased several colors along with a few other Jesse's Girl nail polishes as well directly from the site although Jesse's Girl is also available at RiteAid stores. I have to say, though, that out of all the colors from the collection, Stiletto is by far my favorite. All the polishes I ordered applied absolutely beautifully and wore well, but this particular color was just outstanding. It's a lovely pale taupe-y gray with some slight silver shimmer. It seems more neutral than cool which makes it suitable and flattering for any skin tone and I think it would also be appropriate in any season but more so in the Spring and Winter. As of this posting this polish is still available for purchase on the Jesse's Girl website.<br />

So instead of giving a letter grade in a product review I will be rating products in terms of the likelihood I would ever repurchase said product(s) in the future. Therefore, I will be rating as follows:<div><br />
</div><div>Highest Rating: Beauty For Us All Likely Future Repurchase</div><div>Next Highest Rating: Beauty For Us All Probable Future Repurchase</div><div>Lowest Rating: Beauty For Us All Never Repurchase </div><div><br />
