In Rotation: Current Foundation Favorites

As I get older I find myself slowly getting more and more obsessive about complexion products;  I do have tried and true products (Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Foundation) but that definitely doesn't stop me from looking elsewhere for my foundation fix.  These products last all day on me, which is a requirement for all my complexion products, as I put my makeup on before 7am and don't remove it until around 10pm. I never reapply foundation or concealer, I only touch up my powder if I'm looking a bit shiny. The following foundations/BB creams are what I'm enjoying right now and are in my current rotation!

From L to R:  Maybelline BB Creams in Light/Medium and Medium, Rimmel Lasting Finish in Soft Beige, L'Oreal Lumi in W3 Nude Beige and L'Oreal Visible Lift in Nude Beige

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Skin Protector in Light/Medium and Medium:  I don't think that Western BB Creams are in any way similar to Asian ones (especially due to coverage and claims) but as a tinted moisturizer I'm absolutely loving this particular one.  The texture is like a gel cream, not too thick and not too thin.  The formula glides on smoothly and blends in well leaving a dewy finish.  I can use either color but opt for the Medium one by itself if I feel particularly pale.  They also mix with each other beautifully and I often wear them that way.  The coverage is light but with a few dabs of concealer and a pat of powder I find that it's my perfect everyday face.

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in W3 Nude Beige:  I favor this foundation over the original True Match.  The coverage is light to medium and easily buildable.  It glides on smoothly and blends in well; I usually choose foundations a few shades darker than myself so blend-ability is a must.  There isn't any shimmer in this foundation but it does impart a luminous finish that is easily dissipated with a bit of powder which is what I usually do.  I know that it may defeat the purpose of the whole luminosity factor but that isn't why I bought this foundation, it's more about the coverage for me than the overall finish.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 200 Soft Beige:  I've been using this formula for about a year and a half and it's definitely my go to foundation when I want a flawless face without the heavy feel.  The texture of this foundation is also a gel cream which glides on smoothly, blends well and is a buildable medium to medium/full coverage with a slightly dewy finish.  I always put on a dusting of powder on top of all my foundations so that isn't a problem for me.

L'Oreal Visible Lift Repair Absolute Rapid Age Reversing Makeup in 125 Nude Beige:  This cream foundation is formulated for more mature skin and while I am nowhere near having mature skin I still enjoy the formula.  I think it's particularly well suited for drier skin during the colder months such as now, I probably wouldn't reach for this during the Summer as it's quite hot and humid where I live.  The formula has a light consistency, blends well and is a buildable light to medium coverage.  I often times use this as my under eye concealer when that area feels a bit more drier than usual.  I usually work this into my skin with my fingers and buff out the edges of my face with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or a Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush.
