Review: Haus of Gloi Vice Pumpkin Butter

Over the past year or so I've been very drawn to indie brands for body care items as well as for home fragrances.  There's just something about the thought and care put into these products that appeals to me, most fragrances are truly one of a kind scents which adds to the excitement.  Purchasing products online without trying them out in person is a hit or miss situation but I've been fortunate enough to enjoy most of the products I've purchased blindly.

Over the last month or so I've placed three orders with Haus of Gloi and have been quite pleased with my purchases.  Today we will be looking at one of their Pumpkin Butters called Vice.  From the Haus of Gloi site here is their description of their Pumpkin Butter formula:

" Made with shea butter and unrefined pumpkin seed oil this moisturizer is rich without being too greasy.  Each batch is made from scratch, paraben free and vegan."

Vice is the first Pumpkin Butter I've purchased from them and I am truly in love with not only the scent but with the overall formula.  I bought the 6 ounce size ($10.00) but they also sell a smaller 2 ounce size ($4.50) as well.  Here is their description of the Vice scent:

"Steam billows rolling off a vessel of fresh made Turkish coffee, marshmallow goo tainted by graham cracker crumbs, toasted hazelnuts and blanketed in black chocolate."

When you open the jar there is a protective seal over the top although I didn't take a picture of that because I was too excited to try it out!  The first scents I smelled were of dark chocolate and coffee; the chocolate was definitely not sickeningly sweet at all, it was dark and smokey but NOT like a campfire type of smokey.  I didn't really catch any other smells until I rubbed the cream into my skin.  Immediately after rubbing the cream into my skin the scents changed and I was able to smell more of a creamy sweetness with a bit of nutty-ness added to the initial scents of dark chocolate and coffee.  The scent lingers on my skin for a couple of hours which I'm fine with as I normally reapply lotion to my hands and arms often, especially after washing my hands.  The cream itself is very moisturizing without any of the stickiness that I find can be common with scented creams.  Overall this is an excellent cream; it's both moisturizing and beautifully perfumed.  I purchased their Parkin Pumpkin Butter which I haven't received in the mail yet but I will be doing a review of that once it arrives.
